General information
The new ulrich Medical Contrast Booster supports a guided, controlled suction manoeuvre (Müller manoeuvre). This increases the contrast agent density in the target vessels during pulmonary embolism CT scans, reduces false contrast and thus increases diagnostic accuracy. In addition, the constant, reproducible breathing position ensures consistent and comparable CT imaging quality during follow-up examinations.
Advantages at a glance
- Optimisation of CT imaging quality
- Reduction of false contrast
- Reduction of insufficient contrast in the target vessels
- Ensuring consistent, comparable CT imaging quality during follow-up examinations
Design and function
- Patient unit: The lightweight patient unit can be held in the mouth without using the hands and is ready for the next examination in less than two minutes.
- LED display: The LED display on the patient unit shows patients the intensity during the suction manoeuvre. This allows patients to control the suction intensity themselves.
- Charging cradle: The charging cradle mirrors the LED display on the patient unit, providing information about the patient’s suction intensity. This allows the MTR to intervene in the suction manoeuvre at any time.
- Disposable mouthpiece: To ensure hygienic examinations, the mouthpieces are for single use only per patient.
